![]() The restaurant was not slammed as the lunch rush had thinned out but they were fully staffed. We were a group of 5 adults and went into the restaurant on Black Friday for lunch, but at an off time a little after 2pm. This place is ill-managed and unless drastic changes are made, will mar the reputation of a successful chain. It opened with a flood of customers who, as we, were hoping it would live up to the Black Bear standards. This is a newly opened restaurant of a chain with a good reputation. No one of authority was visiting tables to supervise service or troubleshoot. The mashed potatoes were not hot and gummy. After waiting so long to get served, ironically, the trout was overcooked and not hot. ![]() The waiter and the busser said something went wrong in the kitchen and the “ticket” never went through. The other two dinners came after the first two were almost finished. My grandson’s order was supposed to have syrup with it. Only began, because only two of us were served. This is at 6:15PM in a restaurant that attracts families and children! 7. After asking for milk twice more, a busser told him they were out of milk. We waited a long time for food service and only three of us got our drinks. As our waiter left our table, he was called to the table opposite us to correct an error on their check. He lacked knowledge of the items on the menu, being unable to answer questions and once returning to the table because he could not find our grandson’s selection on the menu. It was obvious to us that he had not been properly trained. This young man, by his own admission, was overwhelmed. ![]() Finally, a waiter came to the table and took our order. We looked at the menu but no one acknowledged our presence for long time. There was no one near us, so, finally, we decided to go to the front and got them for ourselves. After we seated ourselves, we looked around for someone to get us menus. The hostess, who was running, did not show us to our table she pointed it out and told us to stay around it until it was ready. The atmosphere was chaotic and it took a while to get a busser to make the table ready. After a brief wait, we were told we would have a table but we would have to wait for the table to be cleaned. Conclusion: they prefer getting people to come to the restaurant even if it means lying to them. It was apparent that the diners had been there at least since 5:00PM and earlier. There was no sign of a hostess who appeared five minutes later. We have plenty of tables.” We arrived 30 minutes later at 5:30 and the restaurant was filled and there were people waiting for a table. On November 30, we called at 5:00PM and asked if there would be any difficulty getting a table for four at 5:30 and were told “No problem.
